Brooke Aymes, LCSW, LCADC
Hey! I’m Brooke, a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed drug and alcohol counselor in the state of NJ. I’m passionate about helping individuals recover from substance use disorders and helping them to find peace within themselves. Most often, substance use is simply a symptom of underlying trauma, low self esteem, attachment issues and even just learned behaviors from childhood.
Credentials/Certifications
- Masters In Social Work (MSW)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCADC)
- Certification in Trauma (TF-CBT)
My holistic approach to therapy takes bits and pieces from several different therapeutic modalities to best fit each client’s unique needs. The main approaches that can be expected are CBT, IPT and MI. Challenging false beliefs and negative thought processes to help people heal from trauma, improve self esteem and break unhealthy patterns genuinely excites me which is why I work best with people who are ready to take on the challenge of recovery. Individuals doing therapy with me can expect an active therapy session paired with weekly homework assignments.
When I am not working, I'm a full time wife, mama, step-mama and fur-mama in substance use recovery managing my own anxiety. My experience brings both a personal and professional perspective to the work that I do with my clients.
