My name is Brooke Aymes - I am a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed drug and alcohol counselor in New Jersey and a licensed Telehealth therapist in Florida. I specialize in individual therapy sessions for adolescents, individuals and couples experiencing addiction, co-dependency of a loved one in addiction, mental illness and dual-diagnosis.

My holistic approach to therapy takes bits and pieces from several different therapeutic modalities to best fit each client’s unique needs. The main approaches that can be expected are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Challenging false beliefs and negative thought processes to help people heal from trauma, improve self esteem and break unhealthy patterns genuinely excites me which is why I work best with people who are ready to take on the challenge of change. My favorite piece of being a therapist is helping individuals to find peace within their own minds. Anxious thoughts and substance use can cloud our minds, prevent us from being fully present in the moment, deprive us of feeling joy and leave us feeling foggy, unorganized and irritated most days. Individuals doing therapy with me can expect an active therapy session paired with weekly homework assignments.

When I am not working, I'm a full time wife, mama, step-mama and fur-mama in substance use recovery managing my own anxiety. My experience brings both a personal and professional perspective to the work that I do with my clients.
